The 2006 USA Mathematical Talent Search (USAMTS) announced its final results. Four students received perfect scores while six students received 99 out of 100 points.
USAMTS is a math competition available to all middle and high school students. Unlike most math competitions, students are given one month to work on problems, emphasizing individual learning rather than competitiveness.
Southern California students Shotaro Makisumi and Jeffrey Manning earned top 10 finishes by scoring 99 out of 100 points.
