2017 Hour of Code

If your student is new to computer science or would like to explore fun coding and programming activities, come check out these free events at Ardent Academy!

  • Location: Ardent Northwood, 820 Roosevelt, Irvine, CA.
Students will learn how to create animations, code games, solve puzzles, and build electronic devices. No prior programming experience is necessary. Students will use devices provided by Ardent. This event is open to the public; feel free to invite friends, family, and neighbors to participate by forwarding this email. Each participant must register to the event he/she will be attending. Limited spaces are available.

Students will learn how to program and control electronic components using the Arduino micro-controller. Starting with LEDs, students will then program a servo motor to turn. Their final project combines these elements to create a train track crossing with lights and moving crossbar.
