Participants of the 2014 Ardent Academy Summer Research Institute excelled in 2015 Intel STS, 2015 Intel ISEF, California State Science Fair, and Orange County Science & Engineering Fair.
Eight Ardent students were named semifinalists by Orange County Science and Engineering Fair (OCSEF) for participation in the 2015 Intel ISEF Qualifying competition. A total of 39 high school students were selected to take part in the competition.
Jennifer McCleary, senior at Arnold O. Beckman High School, was named one of 40 national finalists in the 2015 Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS). McCleary’s research work was titled “Correcting the Bandgaps of Earth-Abundant Metal Oxides to Photocurrent Generation for Water Splitting Applications.
On March 14, the 2015 Southern California MATHCOUNTS competition was held at University of California Irvine. The annual math competition for middle schools involved over 200 students.
